You're a non-profit record label? What is that?
We're a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. 100% of the profits for each record release goes to a charitable organization of the artists choice. We rely solely on our benefit releases, donations from generous supporters and profits from our distributed releases (any item in our store not made by Overdue).
Does that mean I can write-off records I purchase from your store on my taxes?
Not necessarily! According to tax rules, you can only write-off donations for goods that exceed their fair market value. You only may write-off what you donate on top of an order. This is known as a quid pro quo contribution.
For example, if you were to donate $22 in exchange for an $20 record, you'd be able to write-off the additional $2 you paid. That additional $2 would count as a donation to Overdue Collection Agency.
What about your fundraiser 7" then?
Each 7" record starts at $6. Only money donated on top of the minimum that is tax deductible. However, we will be splitting any additional money donated for the 7" with RAINN and ELAWC. The more you donate, the more goes to them.
Are all of your items are Name Your Own Price?
Just the 7" right now.
I don't want to donate to Overdue, I just want the records.
That's fine too! Enter the minimum price in the Name Your Own Price section and you're good to go!
Can I donate to the organization?
Certainly! You can donate here in the store in addition to your purchase. We are also part of the Paypal Giving Fund. Any donation to Overdue is tax deductible.
Do I get a receipt for my donation?
For digital donations, we will email a receipt for tax purposes. Physical receipts will be mailed along with purchases to denote the amount that can be deducted for taxes, if any. Our EIN is: 27-3803263 and is listed on all receipts.
